Porsche Design Stores – We're open! We are delighted to announce that our Porsche Design stores in Europe have reopened and that all the statutory public health and hygiene measures are in place. It started with the watch: F. A. Porsche created the foundation for his Porsche Design company in 1972 with the Chronograph I. Since then, Porsche Design has created iconic product designs. The Porsche family gives us personal insight into F. A. Porsche. We also open the doors to the studio in Zell am See to show you the past, present, and future of the Porsche Design brand and its products.
Unique in the Truest Sense.
On the occasion of Porsche Design’s 50th anniversary, Porsche Classic has been working on a one-of-a-kind project over the past two years. To mark the anniversary, a Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa from the founding year of 1972 has been restored to the smallest detail. As befits this one-off, the Chronograph 1 – 1972 Limited Edition appears as a single edition with Fuchsfelge wheel, and, together with the restored Porsche, was auctioned in December via auction house Sotheby’s in New York.
Inspired by the watch. And 50 years of history.
At the same time, Porsche is honoring the anniversary with the launch of an exclusive edition model: the Porsche 911 Edition 50 Years of Porsche Design. For the first time in the history of Porsche car development, the design inspiration comes straight from the watch. Until now, the development of watches has always been based on the associated car.
This version, limited to 750 vehicles, evokes design icons from F. A. Porsche with numerous equipment details. The Chronograph 1 – 911 Edition 50Y Porsche Design is released exclusively for those purchasing this vehicle. The anniversary model combines original 1972 design with contemporary innovations, thereby achieving a perfect connection to the here and now.
