Only one thing counts in the Dakar Rally – arriving. To accomplish this, engineers and drivers push their limits and conquer new terrain in every respect. Just like the specialists at Porsche's own Timepiece Manufaktur in Solothurn, Switzerland. After years of development work, they created the world's first chronograph case made of titanium carbide for the new Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar and 911 Dakar Rallye Design Edition. The revolutionary material is even lighter than titanium and has a level of durability that would make many Dakar Rally starters jealous. The two high-quality sports cars for your wrist pay homage to their role models of the same name in a number of different details and can be customized to match the vehicle. The edition, limited to a total of 2,500 units, is reserved exclusively for owners of the Porsche 911 Dakar and the Porsche 911 Dakar Rally Design. 01 THE DAKAR SPIRIT ON YOUR WRIST.

The vehicle lettering "911 Dakar" on the dial makes it unmistakably clear which vehicle was the inspiration for the two chronographs. The four-color Roughroads graphic in the small seconds of the Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar Rallye Design Edition pays tribute to the legendary four-wheel drive Porsche, which also helped the Zuffenhausen-based company achieve fame off the asphalt in 1984. And just as the 953 ushered in a new era, these chronographs want to do the same: with innovative, robust materials and a Swiss movement with pinpoint precision from Porsche Design.

02 WORLD FIRST: THE TITANIUM CARBIDE CASE.

The five-year development period for the new case is similar to that of a new sports car. The result: revolutionary. Thanks to the extreme durability of the material, even fine sand scratches fall by the wayside. The Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar will defy the toughest conditions on your adventures both on- and off-road. Titanium carbide also prevents the visible aging process and is even lighter than titanium — the extremely lightweight design ensures that the high degree of wearing comfort lasts until the final stage. The striking Black powder look also gives the chronograph an elegant finish — while the abbreviation TiC for titanium carbide on the dial evokes memories of the famous "Military" watches from Porsche Design made of stainless steel with the abbreviation 3H for the tritium luminous material used at that time.

03 A SUBTLE FOCUS ON THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS.

The Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar is easy to read, even when the sun is burning above in a cloudless sky like a gargantuan ball of fire, the sole shady refuge from which is the roof of the Porsche 911 Dakar. The Red 60 of the minute scale on the rehaut as the centre top marking helps with orientation and catches the eye just as quickly as the Red stop hands. The lines of the small hour markings are thicker than the half-hour markings. The lettering for the Porsche Design Calibre WERK 01.240 with flyback function is also in Red on this Black dial.

04 DETAILED HOMAGE: THE ROTOR IN WHEEL DESIGN.

Anything but a mirage: The winding rotor on the back actually matches the 911 Dakar rim down to the smallest detail. In line with your respective vehicle configuration, the colors Black (satin) and Solid White for the complete rim design are available for both chronographs. The winding rotor for the Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar is also available in Vesuvius Gray. If you choose Black (satin) or Vesuvius Gray, the rim ring is executed in Brilliant Silver. The modern Porsche crest adorns the end cap in the selected rim color.

05 INTERCHANGEABLE. NOT REPLACEABLE.

The Porsche 911 Dakar in the middle of a unique Sahara landscape: There are sights that make you forget the hardships of the Dakar Rally for a moment. Like the sight of the high-quality watch straps with quick-change system of the Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar and 911 Dakar Rallye Design Edition.

The watch strap alludes to the seat center of the 911 Dakar – with Black leather including contrasting stitching in Shade Green and perforation with backing made of Race-Tex in Shade Green. The inspiration of the leather strap for the Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar Rallye Design Edition is also clearly taken from the seat center with Black leather and contrasting stitching in Speed Blue as well as perforation with backing made of Race-Tex in Shark Blue.

06 LONG LIFE MANIFESTED.

The tracks of the Porsche 911 Dakar in the deep desert sand will be gone after just a few hours, but the "911 Dakar" engraved model lettering on this elegant plaque will stay with you forever. Just like the "Rough roads Porsche" graphic when buying a Chronograph 1 – 911 Dakar Rallye Design Edition. The limited edition number shared by your Porsche 911 Dakar and your chronograph on the plaque further illustrates the close connection between these two fascinating collector's items. This means that without exception, each and every chronograph is checked once again for accuracy by the Manufaktur before delivery.
