The Chronograph I – a timeless icon. Born in 1972. Redefined in 2022. The launch of the Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition by Porsche Design follows the sold-out, limited anniversary edition of the celebrated design classic. Manufactured at Porsche Design’s own watch manufacturing facility, the chronograph is reminiscent of the unique, pure design of the all-black timepiece from 1972. Following in the footsteps of its revolutionary predecessor, the Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition catches the eye with its matte black dial. The crown, clasp and dial feature the current Porsche Design logo while the sapphire-crystal case back reveals the iconic Porsche Design winding rotor. The double-sided, seven-layer sapphire-crystal glass with hard coating ensures optimal readability. The date display keeps the current Porsche Design lettering, while the minute hand features the unmistakable rectangular shape of the original baton hands, updated with a pointed tip for the most precise indication on the surrounding minute dial.

Porsche Design Caliber WERK 01.140
01 / Watchmaking That Sets New Standards
01
This timepiece is created in a very special way, by hand, with great attention to detail. Porsche Design has had its own manufacturing facility in Solothurn, Switzerland, since 2014. Engineers and watchmakers work side by side there to combine design expertise with excellence in production. This chronograph is powered by a Porsche Design Caliber, the WERK 01.140 with COSC certification, and thus guarantees maximum precision.
02 / Classically Timeless
02
The matte black dial makes this chronograph a design icon, too. Just like the crown and clasp, it bears the current Porsche Design logo.
03 / Optimal Readability
03
The sapphire crystal with hard coating and sevenfold anti-glare properties on both sides ensures optimal readability. The minute hand retains the unmistakable, rectangular shape of the original baton hand and has been supplemented by a pointed tip for maximum precision in the display. The date display keeps the current Porsche Design lettering.
Care Tips
Clean your watch regularly with a soft cloth and lukewarm soapy water. After swimming with your watch in salt water, rinse it off with fresh water and allow it to dry completely. Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature or humidity fluctuations, direct sunlight, or strong magnetic fields. For watches with leather watchstraps, high-quality natural leather is used. To protect your watchstrap, we recommend that you avoid exposing it to water or moisture, skin cream or cosmetics, or prolonged direct sunlight as much as possible. Important: before you clean your watch, make sure that the crown is screwed in all the way to the case. We recommend that you have your watch inspected regularly to verify that it is water-resistant. This inspection should be conducted every year and whenever the watch has sustained a blow or shock. Because oils and greases are subject to aging, you should have the movement cleaned and inspected every 4 years to keep your watch in top working order.
