Taking her cue from the motto "It's about time", presenter Verena Wriedt hosted the digital 50Y launch event from the Porsche Museum, and opened it with a personal message from Hans Peter Porsche. The CEO of the Porsche Lifestyle Group, Dr. Jan Becker, expressed his great pleasure in unveiling a new chapter for Porsche Design with the Porsche 911 Targa from 1972, which has been extensively restored by Porsche Classic to create a magnificent one-off. Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of the special edition of the Chronograph I, which was reissued in a limited edition of 500 on the occasion of the anniversary. Combining the iconic design from 1972 with the latest technology, this model is a special tribute to the original. But there was more to come: Deputy Chairman and Member of the Executive Board responsible for Finance and IT at Porsche AG, Lutz Meschke, dedicated a very special gift to his subsidiary: a Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS in a limited edition of 750 with exclusive anniversary features such as special color finishes in "Platinum Silk Gloss" and an anniversary badge. As a companion piece, Lutz Meschke presented a 50Y Edition of Chronograph 1, which is available exclusively to purchasers of the 911 special-edition model.
In order to bring 50 years of Porsche Design to life for everyone, at the end of the event Jan Becker opened the 50 Years of Porsche Design special exhibition at the Porsche Museum. This will run until July 11, 2022, providing exclusive insights into the history of the brand. This promises an unforgettable experience for all Porsche Design lovers with special stories, exhibits and drawings from the pen of F. A. Porsche.
