During the development of the Chronograph 1, F. A. Porsche consistently aspired to transport the sports car’s design principles to the wrist, a new expression of precision, functionality, aesthetic and, ultimately, the feeling of aPorsche sports car in the form of this special timepiece. Today – half a century later – the iconic Chronograph 1 – 1972 is enjoying a comeback. The timepiece has remained true to the original. With the Porsche Targa S 2.4, the factory restoration deliberately took a different path. “While the aim during the restoration of a vehicle is usually to remain as true to the original as possible, here a one-off was created that perfectly bridges the original and the modern .” says Uwe Makrutzki, Head of Porsche Classic Factory Restoration at Porsche AG. As a special highlight, the Targa roll-over bar is painted in silk-gloss platinum – reinterpreting the brushed stainless steel of the old model. At the same time, the anniversary model picks up the color scheme of the legendary Chronograph 1 from 1972 as developed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. Black dominates both the exterior and interior of the car.
The first product design by F. A. Porsche thereby enjoys a strong follow-up with both icons for the 50th anniversary.
